SWEETLIPS beet yield and sugar content stimulant
The SWEETLIPS® yield and sugar content stimulant is a new product from DOLINA, which includes a set of specific growth stimulants, the effect of which is focused on increasing the efficiency of growing and industrial processing of sugar beets.
SWEETLIPS® is the result of rethinking of the plant growth stimulants developing philosophy by the company’s specialists from the perspective of the question: who is the consumer of its products and which customer problems can these products solve.
Consumers of standard stimulants are farmers of all levels, and the effect of these products is focused on the technological cycle of growing crops: from seed treatment to harvest, and at best, the impact on storage and biochemical composition of products. A new look at these processes, which resulted in the creation of the SWEETLIPS® stimulant, allowed us to expand the list of specific problems which it can solve. These problems not only agricultural producers have to face, but also processing enterprises, which is even more relevant in the conditions of the ownership structure of sugar beet acreage in Ukraine.
EFFECTS OF APPLICATION
Due to their biological characteristics sugar beets are a crop of great potential. Increasing the production of sugar beets with high technological qualities is relevant and remains a key factor in the beet growing industry in Ukraine. The main objective criterion and final assessment, which takes into account the yield and quality of root crops, is the factory yield of sugar per seedling rate, which reflects and integrates the effect of weather conditions and elements of growing technology on sugar beet plants. Increased sugar content with high technological qualities allows processors to minimize electricity costs during sugar extraction, mainly due to the reduction of the water evaporation process, and to achieve the maximum level of sugar and by-products production per season. At the same time, agricultural producers receive a surcharge for increased sugar content.
The stimulant SWEETLIPS® prevents wilting, correlates the content of soluble ash and alpha-amine nitrogen with the amount of fertilizer rates in both dry and wet periods. Taproots of treated plants have a better MB factor, which better slows down life processes during storage, which is accompanied by long shelf life due to less loss of root mass and sugar, and also increases resistance to damage by root rot.
Processing of hybrid root crops treated with the SWEETLIPS® stimulant, when using different application schemes of the formulation, allows for a higher yield of refined sugar from the area of crops, which is achieved both due to higher crop yield and sugar content, and due to better technological quality of root crops.
The main advantages of the SWEETLIPS® stimulant:
- its effect provides a more developed root system;
- in a short time increases the area of the leaf surface of plants, forms the optimal size of the leaf apparatus, increases its optical properties and prolongs its viability;
- optimizes the water balance of plants, during the period of intensive growth reduces water consumption (m3/ha) for the formation of 1 kg of absolute dry matter;
- increases the yield, sugar content, quality and technological indicators of root crops;
- at the processing stage improves the quality of purified juice and reduces sugar losses in molasses.
The average results of the four-year (2017-2020) SWEETLIPS® stimulant testing program in collaboration with the leading scientific center in the industry, the Institute of Bioenergy Crops and Sugar Beet of the NAAS of Ukraine, in the conditions of the Uladovo-Lyulynetsk Research and Breeding Station (Vinnytsia region), are presented in the table.
AVERAGE RESULTS OF THE APPLICATION OF SWEETLIPS® STIMULANT ON SUGAR BEET (2017-2020)
| Technology/application rate | Increase in yield comparing to control | Increase in sugar content of root crops | Increase in sugar yield per hectare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard/3*0.2 L/ha | +6.0% | +0.6% | +10% |
| Intensive/2*0.5 L/ha | +6.0% | +2.0% | +16.5% |
Taking into account the above data, we can see and compare the effectiveness of SWEETLIPS® application in both standard and intensive application technology. If we talk about the intensive application technology, such indicators as an increase in the sugar content of root crops and an increase in sugar yield per hectare have significantly increased. The sugar increases observed throughout the entire research program reached +2.2 t/ha. The data presented includes the recommended application rates for obtaining the maximum effect, but even 1 or 2 treatments can significantly increase the profitability of sugar beet cultivation.
The action mechanism of the SWEETLIPS® stimulant is on the plane of a positive effect on the photosynthetic apparatus and an increase in the intensity and productivity of photosynthesis processes. Due to the application of the formulation, the photosynthetic surface of the leaves increases, the chlorophyll content increases and the intensity of carbon dioxide absorption is activated. The application of SWEETLIPS® accelerates the processes of water supply in plant tissues due to an increase in the intensity of transpiration and increased water absorption by the root system.
SWEETLIPS® activates the nutrition of plant tissues with phytohormones, lignin, proteins, carbohydrates and mineral elements, and also increases the activity of enzymes.
The SWEETLIPS® sugar beet yield and sugar content stimulant is a new product from DOLINA, a high-tech set of specific growth stimulants, created by professionals for professionals in their field, which allows to raise the efficiency of both growing and processing of sugar beets to a new level and gives you the opportunity to be proud of the fruits of your labor.
